BookcasesPlus is the product of years of furniture making, design, and sales. In 1983, our founder tested #1 in the City of Philadelphia for his carpentry and woodworking skills. Most recently being part of Wood Wright Unfinished Furniture of Bryn Mawr, we also occasionally assisted  with The Unpainted Furniture Store in Malvern and The Home Budget Center in Paoli.

 

With an extensive background in furniture making, hardware, and woodworking machinery; you can tap decade upon decade of experience and knowledge to help guide you in your furniture buying decisions.

WHAT WE DO

 

Unlike Pottery Barn, Ethan Allen, Pier One Imports, Restoration Hardware, Crate and Barrel, and most other retailers; our furniture has ZERO particle or paper board or paper mache' substrates hidden underneath sleek, gleaming plastic finishes.

 

Bookcases might look nice in a catalog or on the showroom floor, but if it has a composite substrate:

 

• You will spend a considerable amount of time sorting through parts and assembling

• The shelves will sag in no time

• Heavy concentrations of carcinogenic gasses will be released into your living space

• Too much weight will cause collapse

• The finish that looked so nice will quickly chip and peel

• Moving it after assembly is nearly impossible without disaster(many movers will not insure)

• Moisture will cause swelling and weakness

• The connectors will fail
